Election Info for Cherry Valley, NY
DEMOCRATIC CAUCUS
To be held on Saturday, January 24, 2009 at 1:00pm at the Village Hall, 2
Genessee St., in the Old School, for the purpose of nominating candidates
for the following:
Mayor - 4 year term
Trustee - 4 year term
Elections to be held on March 18, 2009.

Board meetings are held once a month, on the third Monday of the month (unless it's a holiday and then the meeting is rescheduled).
Salary: between $1,300 and $2,100 per year.
The main duties of the Village Board (Mayor and 2 Trustees) is to oversee the management of the Village, levy taxes, pass a budget and ensure Village employees are properly fulfilling their jobs. Village employees are the Village Clerk and Deputy Clerk, and the DPW, currently Kelly Wright. The positions can be either demanding or easy depending on the amount of effort and time you invest. It depends on whether you want to be proactive and engaged and try to promote growth and business in the Village or let it continue on it's way without any kind of engagement from Village government.
